A huge part of my photography process involves connecting with couples & families ahead of time to chat through details & answer questions. Here are a few of the most common questions that come up to get you started… please feel free to reach out & ask more. I would love to hear from you!

Each wedding package includes time together to discuss the details of your day & get to know one another. Also included is a combination of medium-format / 35mm film & digital imagery & the collection of beautifully edited, high-resolution files hosted in a private online gallery. We’ll work together to customize elements such as coverage hours, additional photographers & a specially-selected boxed print collection, album, or credit to use in your online gallery. I believe photographs are at their best when viewed off a screen & held in your hands, so this is one of my (& my clients!) favorite parts of the process.

Absolutely! One of the reasons I take a limited number of weddings each year is so that I can be present with & available to my couples in the planning process. Whether it’s brainstorming activities for your engagement session, scouting the best spot for your sunset portraits, or offering guidance on how long you’ll need for group portraits - I am here for all of it. Documenting weddings for over 15 years has given me huge insight into how to collaborate with your vendor team & craft a flexible photo plan in a stress-free & authentic way.

Early on in my career, one of my favorite mentors told me “a wedding is not a photoshoot” & that phrase became one of my guiding principles! So I don’t work off a shotlist because I believe that we don’t need to manufacture moments to get amazing photographs… these images come from you actually getting to experience your day. I get to know my couples & the elements, people & traditions that feel meaningful to them so I can be sure to capture those. When it comes to formal portraits of family & friends, a list can be great & I often help my couples create it! It helps us keep track & work quickly so you can get back to your celebration. :)

Yes! I love traveling & documenting new places. I’ve photographed weddings all over the USA as well as Italy, Mexico, Spain, & France. Please reach out to learn about destination wedding timing & travel expenses.

We’ll start with a quick call or zoon to chat about the details of your celebration. From there I can recommend an existing package or create something fully customized for you. Once the package elements are settled, the documents can be finished through my easy on-line system. A signed agreement & 50% retainer formally holds your date. The balance is due two weeks before your wedding.

After your wedding, the film goes to my fantastic, professional lab to be processed & scanned. When it comes back, I love to send a little preview cause I know it’s hard to wait! From there I begin the process of creating your collection - giving attention & care to each image so it looks its very best. The whole process takes about eight weeks. I want you to receive a well-crafted collection that’s ready to share with your loved ones & that takes some time… but I do promise to send some sneak-peeks along the way. :)

Well first I’ll say that I actually shoot both film & digital! Different light, locations, or scenarios call for different mediums & I like to choose the best option for the moment. Film is my absolute favorite - it’s unbeatable for portraiture. There’s a depth to the colors & tones, a luminosity & a timeless quality that I’m totally in love with. Digital has wonderful clarity in tough lighting scenarios & it’s fantastic for quick action times like a dance party. I work diligently to create an image collection that’s cohesive so my clients are seeing the moment, not the medium & whatever method I’m using, I make a point to connect with the people I’m documenting, photograph with intention & respond to the moment at hand in an artistic way.

For family & other portraiture, the process is divided into the photo session itself, and then the collection purchase that happens once you’ve seen your images. The booking fee includes time to get to know one another & plan our session around your family’s needs, film & processing costs & my time photographing & curating your final images. Once you’ve seen the images, you’ll be able to choose from one of three collections. Each collection includes a select number of digital images, print credit & guidance on how to select beautiful heirloom products for your home. I believe photographs are at their best when viewed off a screen & held in your hands, so this is one of my (& my clients) favorite parts of the experience!

Yes! I love traveling & documenting in new places. When multiple portrait sessions book in a nearby location, travel fees can be shared among the families… so gather up your favorite people & I’ll plan special travel session dates for you!

We’ll start with a quick call or zoom so I can walk you through the process and learn about your family. Once we’ve covered the process & looked over dates, the booking documents can be finished through my simple online system. A signed agreement & session fee payment formally holds your date. From there, I send a helpful Getting Ready Guide! Image collections are purchased after viewing the gallery.
